WHAT WE DO
We equip the family of Sutton Bible Church for ministry and service, so that we can be used by the Spirit to grow the universal church. This is done through intentional corporate worship, prayer and the preaching of Scripture. Ultimately we desire to see our community transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
CHURCH LEADERSHIP
Sutton Bible Church believes that the New Testament design for church leadership is a plurality of elders. God has gifted and called each man to shepherd and lead the family of SBC. Each elder is expected and encouraged to use their God given gifts to shepherd the church in the areas of preaching, teaching, prayer, and ministry.
Meet the Elders
Ron Wayner
We came to Alaska in 2012 after spending 23 years serving in missions through aviation in Southern Africa. SBC became our home church in 2014. We know the Lord has called us here not only to be ministered to but also to minister to the people of SBC and to the people of Sutton. We are “Blessed to be a blessing!”
We enjoy being involved with the activities of Sutton Bible Church. It is a welcoming, growing, inter-generational body with a big heart for family.
Mark Pieper
Mark Joined the SBC Team in 2020. In addition to serving as a youth leader, Mark has begun serving in a teaching capacity on the preaching team.
Charlie Overby
My wife and I have been involved in the Sutton Bible Church from the very beginning . We believe strongly in supporting our local community church. Before Sutton Bible Church I wondered and prayed if someday, our town would blessed with a thriving, Bible believing church that was
"reaching out" to our community, not just " in" our community. We are grateful to how this body is serving together, getting things done, each one using their own gift, to bring honor to the Lord. We are a singing and praising church and I am grateful the Lord has allowed me to be a part of our fine music team. My wife is a retired nurse. She is constantly reaching out to be a blessing to those facing health issues. We are very thankful to be a part of Sutton Bible Church.
Justin Archuletta
My wife and I moved from Colorado after getting out of the Military in 2014 and landed in Sutton, AK. At that time, we saw the Love of Christ on display in the church and the community, so SBC became our home. I am now privileged to serve on the Elder board and love seeing how God is transforming SBC and Sutton!
